My first business which is still a major contributor was in social compliance and human audit, everyone is now much more aware of where things come from and how they are made, so I designed an online system for manufacturers to provide all the necessary details for their clients to make considered decisions about their supply chain from a different perspective.
They have the product knowledge and the pricing information, but they don’t always know what goes on behind the scenes, my company empowers businesses to understand their supply chain from the ground up.
I have always had an affinity for the countryside, now my organization owns arable land and forestry in the UK for both for conservation and commercial operations.
Medium to long term investments which are profitable, In Europe there is a constant demand for land, buying and selling in 10 years has the potential to double your money with very little risk,
I have recently expanded into aviation, we now have a successful helicopter charter business providing services for film, sport, business, and personal charters.
Utilising two aircraft, the business can always meet our customer’s needs, strategic planning on maintenance and availability of pilots allows us to be competitive and offer a full service to our clients.harter business providing services for film, sport, business, and personal charters.
On the back of the success of my other businesses an opportunity arose to acquire three high street fashion businesses from administration, our strategic overview was that post COVID there would be a huge amount of pent-up demand for revisiting the high street, this coupled with Government commitments to revitalize the high street was a golden opportunity to expand.
I was under no illusion that the journey would be plain sailing, but the business is carefully planned and has a tremendous and loyal customer base, that coupled with a hard-working, result orientated management team will continue to grow and beat expectations.
Since this acquisition I have received interest from family offices and other investors who are keen to invest in this growth, sentiment is leaning towards a return to the high street in their eyes too.
This seemed to be a logical progression, I have always seen the utilization of trade finance as one of the most innovative cash management techniques available to businesses.
Cashflow is king in any supply and demand based operation, and the ability to provide businesses with effective prepayments of their order requirements allows them precious opportunity to trade their stocks through the business at full price, this in turn for me as the provider of the finance allows for a good return on investment on funds employed whilst retaining security over assets until payment is made in full.
For me at least, I felt safer investing in trade finance than I did stocks and shares as my other managed portfolios were taking a hammering.
